Revisit the springtime in the middle of the 18th century by means of the charming allegorical representation of the season. Prior to Thomas Jefferys becoming an unsurpassed mapmaker of the Enlightenment era, he depicted the spirit of the four seasons by using elaborate copperplate prints. The presented work represents typical Georgian imagery—floral motifs and lively images—in combination with characteristic line drawings that would be typical of Jefferys’ famous maps.
