The extremely rare 1768 copperplate engraving by Thomas Jefferys offers an insight into the Spanish court of the mid-17th century. It portrays Queen Maria Theresa of Austria, Infanta of Spain and later Queen of France, in her appearance in the year 1660, when she got married to King Louis XIV.

The engravings gained fame because of its accurate depiction of the Spanish Guardainfante, which is a wide farthingale that characterized Spanish culture before any French influence.
