This beautiful 18th century engraving, created by the acclaimed mapmaker and engraver Thomas Jefferys, depicts the dignified portrait of Pierre Terrail, Seigneur de Bayard (circa 1473–1524). He is better known in history as Chevalier sans peur et sans reproche, a title that perfectly defines his role as the epitome of French chivalry and martial prowess.
