Pesca Alberges - Peach

by Giorgio Gallesio

Bring a touch of Tuscany’s sunshine into your house with this fantastic reproduction of the “Pesca Alberges” (The Alberges Peach) that was first illustrated by renowned Italian botanist Giorgio Gallesio from 1817 to 1839.

Found in his famous publication, Pomona Italiana, which is the first ever magnificently illustrated book about Italian fruit trees, this painting features an alive and fruitful peach branch reproduced with utmost historical accuracy. Each spot of reddish color in its velvet-like skin, the veins in its leaves, and the structural beauty of the branch itself were all painted using the technique of hand-colored aquatint engraving.

Great for decorating kitchen galleries, stylish dining rooms, or Mediterranean-style interiors, this art reproduction has a perfect combination of academic historical weight and natural warmth.
