Here is a beautifully executed stipple engraving from early 19th century illustrating Fringe Iris (Iris Fimbriata) with remarkable artistic accuracy from the renowned "Raphael of Flowers" Pierre-Joseph Redouté. This plate has been taken from his great botanical work titled Les Liliacées published during 1802 to 1815 in Paris. This illustration perfectly showcases Redouté's unique technique of printing in color.
