This rare collection published by Thomas Jefferys, master cartographer and “Geographer to King George III”, is a beautifully produced study in costume across cultures. Featuring dresses from a variety of nations throughout time, Jefferys also included the habits of principal characters contemporary to the 18th century English stage. Using digital restoration, our expert conservators have brought each image in this historic collection back to life with vivid authenticity.
