Metro Gas Sign Retro Americana Wall Art - Classic Black & White Print In The Living Room

Metro Gas Sign in Cedar City, Utah

by John Margolies

Create an authentic mid-century roadside scene within your home or office with this original work of fine art photography depicting the classic Metro Gas sign in Cedar City, Utah, photographed by acclaimed architectural historian and photographer John Margolies in 1980. Depicted against a vivid sky of cobalt blue, the composition highlights the unique design elements of the “SAVE WITH” starburst topper, rounded bulb cover, and brightly colored block lettering (the word "METRO" spelled out in alternating shades of blue and red, with "GAS" in orange).

John Margolies has spent a lifetime recording the vanishing architectural heritage along the American highway. This particular piece is a perfect example of retro Googie design, vintage petroliana, and American road-trip heritage.
