This photograph captures a peeling round Gulf gasoline sign on Main Street in Walsenburg, Colorado. This was captured by architectural photographer John Margolies in 1991. The famous orange and white disc of the company is placed in a pure white rectangular frame, accompanied by a “Sanitary REST ROOMS” sign below. This photograph is preserved in the Library of Congress Roadside America collection and provides an authentic view of mid-20th century commercial disrepair and vintage highway gasobilia.
