Bargain Used Car Sign in West Palm Beach, Florida

A wonderful example of the classic Americana roadside sign from the middle of the twentieth century, this amazing photograph captured in 1979 by the renowned architectural photographer John Margolies shows a particular roadside sign placed at West Palm Beach and shot against the bright blue sky of Florida. The upper part of the sign is made in such a way as to display the words "BARGAIN" written in large bold letters of red color on the yellow background, while below it there is the image of a late 1950s luxury car with typical tail fins.

This excellent archival print is one of those from the Library of Congress Margolies Collection and is abundant with pop art and commercial graphic design elements.
