1. Chaetodon Aureus 2. Zeus Vomer

by Marcus Elieser Bloch

Adorn your walls with a stunning piece of scientific art from the 18th century. This unique print showcases two of the most beautiful illustrations from the German naturalist Marcus Elieser Bloch’s seminal publication, Allgemeine Naturgeschichte der Fische (Natural History of Fishes): the radiant Chaetodon Aureus (Der Pflaumenfarbige Goldfisch / La Dorade de Plumier) and the elegant blue-silver Zeus Vomer (Der Pflugfisch / Le Vomer / The Vomer Fish).

Celebrated for their exquisite copperplate engravings and vivid hand coloring, Bloch’s illustrations combine the science of taxonomy with the beauty of fine art. Ideal for seaside homes and natural history museums.
