Geometry and ghosted color from the middle of the century, John Margolies documents three vintage Wayne gas pumps located in Lehi, Utah. Located next to a white-painted and curved-sided roadside service station, the pumps boast their age through chipped white paint that allows glimpses of underlying bright red primer paint. The skill of Margolies in documenting vernacular roadside architecture transforms an otherwise unassuming corner of Old Route 89 into a sculptural work of history in America.
