In the Korean War, a mountain, mostly occupied by soldiers, had to be evacuated; a few dozen soldiers were left behind to fight the enemy. A platoon member is adamant about ending the life of another man, but, as comrades fall one by one, he's forced to develop the skill of killing as well as the skill of leading by example. Denno and his outnumbered comrades also have to contend with a steep slope covered in ice. Fixed Bayonets is the setting for a 1951 American war film directed by Samuel Fuller and produced by Twentieth Century-Fox during the Korean War.
