Ciliegia Napoletana - Hard-fleshed Cherry

by Giorgio Gallesio

Bring a little piece of Italy from the 19th century into your home through this beautiful botanical print of the Ciliegia Napoletana (Neapolitan Cherry). This print originally dates back to 1817–1839, when it was printed in Giorgio Gallesio’s famed Pomona Italiana, the most famous Italian book on classification of fruits. This print depicts the beautiful crimson red color of the traditional Italian hard cherry (Cerasus Duracina). Every single detail of the leaf venation, skin texture, and cross section has been restored to perfection.

This is a beautiful addition to any kitchen, dining room, or gallery wall.
