A highly detailed plant depiction of the Rosy Spiderwort (Tradescantia Rosea, alternatively known as Ephémérine Rose), created by none other than the famous "Rembrandt of Roses," Pierre-Joseph Redouté. This plate is a representation of Redouté’s unparalleled perfection of the color-printed stipple engraving process.

Instead of using bold lines for detailing, Redouté applies small dots that create extremely smooth tone gradients. The pink, three-petaled flowers are nicely offset by the thin and straight-lined green leaves, creating a nice balance of geometrical elements. The print is done on high-quality heavy woven paper and personally completed by the artist himself to ensure maximum precision of depiction and clarity of colors.
