Coryphaena Plumieri - The Sea Pea-Cock

by Marcus Elieser Bloch

Bloch's beautifully illustrated fishes were created in the late 18th century as part of his comprehensive work 'Allgemeine Naturgeschichte der Fische'. These drawings sparked a curiosity that would help establish the field of ichthyology - the study of fish. In this series, you can see all of Bloch's drawings digitally restored in vivid detail by our team of expert conservators.
