This is an outstanding copperplate engraving from 1757 that presents the elegant fashion style of the upper-class society in mid-17th century Germany. The antique print is called "Habit of a Woman of Quality of Cologn in 1640" and was published in London by the famous geographer and engraver, Thomas Jefferys, who created a book entitled "A Collection of the Dresses of Different Nations."

The engraving presents the elegant styles worn by ladies from the nobility of Cologne during the Baroque period, including their structured bodices, exquisite ruff collars, and elaborate veils. The historic piece has been printed on authentic chain-laid paper from the mid-18th century.
