Jump into summer 1978 with this dynamic and recently discovered color slide photograph from the legendary Roadside America collection of John Margolies. The camera lens depicts the pure excitement of the iconic “Water Slide” at Seaside Heights, New Jersey, in an absolutely beautiful blue sky day. The huge slide stands above the green hill with its numerous customers who travel on the wooden walkway and wait in line for their ride down into the turquoise water tank.

Underneath the hill, you’ll be transported right back to the late 70s with the white Ford Gran Torino, the cherry-red Ford Fairlane coupe, and the black Dodge Dart parked under the cloudy sky alongside with the iconic Harley Davidson chopper and beach people dressed according to the time. This is a pure masterclass in the architecture and social documentary photography.
