Captured in 1977, the image below captures the original Pepperdine University campus located at the intersection of 81st and Vermont Streets in South Los Angeles. Nicknamed "the Tower of Power" by its students, the mid-twentieth century modern design of the administration building is captured brightly lit in Margolies’ hallmark bright, clear day style. Prior to relocating its primary campus in 1972 to the cliffs of Malibu, this dynamic South Los Angeles urban campus was the heart of Pepperdine University.
