Hunt's Casino Theater in Wildwood, New Jersey

by John Margolies

This particular print features the Hunt’s Casino Theater located in the Wildwood area of New Jersey. This theater has been captured through the lens of John Margolies, one of the best documentary photographers known for capturing the American roadside architecture in their true essence. This photo is an excellent example of a beautiful blend of Art Deco and Doo-Wop style. The theater has a magnificent look with its blue and white color scheme featuring a curved marquee and glass blocks. The marquee of the theater has the name “Burt Reynolds The End,” which is inspired from a classic 1970s movie.

Although the theater was demolished in 1999, the high-quality photograph still retains the charm of the bygone era of Wildwood.
