The colorful photograph taken in 1980 against the backdrop of the blue sky has been captured by acclaimed architectural historian and photographer John Margolies. The subject of the photograph is Blake's Restaurant Sign in Las Cruces, New Mexico, locally known as Blake’s Lotaburger. The famous fast-food chain’s mascot sign, named “Lota Man,” includes the signature of the mascot dressed up in a red-and-white-striped top hat and bow tie, and holding a sign of the name “Blake’s” scripted in it.
